This kid is kind of weird. He hasn't been standing on his own. He hasn't even been really trying to walk on his own. He's only been taking half like a step. Sometimes you could trick him into taking 3 or 4 steps by moving back when he tried to step toward you. Really, he's shown no sign that he has a desire to start trying to walk. He's just a fast crawler and it works for him, so why would he try something new?
Danger, he's walking. Today, he decided it was okay to walk across the house by himself. Tell, me how a kid goes from only taking a half a step to being an avid walker without showing any signs of progress between the two extremes?
He's also quite the professional little climber. He's very clever about it too. He has figured out how to pull the chair out from under the table just so he can use it to climb on the table. It's a good thing that new keyboard we bought has an on/off switch so he doesn't delete everything on our computer. We've had to put a door stop in front of the oven so he doesn't pull all the pots and pans out. Even though the kitchen cupboards are child proofed, he has discovered that they open up just wide enough that he can stick his hand in and pull out canned foods and Tupperware lids. He got a hold of the phone once and speed dialed Greg at work. He screams if he doesn't get his way (I thought this wasn't supposed to happen until he was two *sigh*) This kid is trouble. You wouldn't know it, because he is a perfect little angel in public, but at home he is definitely TROUBLE!
