9 months

Timothy is 9 months old today! Don't ask me his stats, because his 9 month check up isn't for almost another month. Yeah, we're off a little.
This little boy is making great progress. He still isn't crawling on his hands with his tummy off the floor, which I think he'll never do. Hey, the army crawl works great for him so why would he take the time to learn something else? He's learned to pull himself up to standing and likes to walk along the front of the couch. This is exciting, but also has become annoying very fast, because if I'm sitting on the couch he feels like he has to stand up at the couch and try and push every button on the laptop or the remote controls. It makes things like blogging very difficult when I have to fight with little fingers the whole time. He finally figured how to put food in his mouth and he babbles a lot. He also like to say mom, not mamamamama. I'm sure he doesn't realize he's saying it, but it is cute none the less.
On a side note - When we moved into the duplex we got our phone through charter. Because we hooked up the cable and the internet in the living room we decided to hook up the phone in our master bedroom. For the past year the phone modem and the phone have just been sitting  on the floor in a big tangled mess. Thanks to a little curious boy who like to crawl everywhere and push buttons it was becoming apparent that it was necessary to move the phone set up off of the floor. So, we found a little accent table, a cute picture frame and a couple of little book shaped boxes at Burlington Coat Factory and added a little decor to the master bedroom. It was about time and it looks so much better. Now, if only we could upgrade from the cheap Ikea bed to a nice bed set with matching dressers and stuff.... Anyway, thanks for being so curious, Timothy!

Pictures of Timothy

While we were in Colorado in July my brother was nice enough to take some good quality photos for us. I got on shutterfly to order some prints of these photos to hang on the wall and decided to check my email for some promo codes from shutterfly and I had a code for a free photobook. So I took my favorties from the photo shoot and a few random other favorites of Timothy we have sitting around and I put together a photo book.

Here are a few more of the pictures Brandon took
Big Blue Eyes
Makes me laugh every time.
I can really see how much he looks like me.
My favorites from the shoot.

Anniversary Weekend

Yesterday, Greg and I celebrated our 3 anniversary.  Let me tell you we partied all weekend.

Friday night our friends Jeff and Kelli were kind enough to watch Timothy for us so we could go out to celebrate.  We started our night off at the Olive Garden and then headed  to the movies to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2.  We were way too full for dessert at the Olive Garden but after the movie we we were ready for dessert we stopped at Dairy Queen.

Saturday morning, I baked a brownie bottom raspberry swirled cheesecake for us to enjoy on Sunday for our anniversary dessert.  I also made some blueberry freezer jam because I had bought 2 lb of blueberries at Costco, because I know Greg likes blueberries, but I bought them without thinking about the fact that I have no idea what to do with blueberries.

We headed to Reno that Night for an Aces baseball game.  That really had nothing to do with our anniversary. It was GE family night so GE got a bunch of tickets for their employees and their families. It was a long game with a high score of 13 to 10. It didn't get over until after 11pm so Timothy stayed up extra, extra late.  As hard as he tried to fall asleep near the end of game the drunk people in the crowd just got louder and louder and he couldn't sleep through their cheering. But we had fun and it was free, well the tickets were anyways, which made up for the fact that concessions were ridiculously expensive. Seriously, $6.50 for a plain old cheeseburger. Ridiculous

Sunday morning I woke up and put a roast in the crockpot for dinner. It was a Balsamic and Onion Roast. I found the recipe pinned on Pinterest and thought it sounded fancy enough to try for a special occasion, but was still simple and didn't require a lot of work. I added some potatoes and garlic to it, to add a little bit more flavor to the sauce. It cooked all day while we were at church and then we came home and enjoyed our dinner and our cheesecake too. Then, we just spent the rest of the day relaxing.

8 Months

On last week Timmy turned 8 months.  According to the Wii he weighs exactly 17 pounds. He is a pro at sitting up by himself and is becoming quite proficient at the army crawl. He scootches all over the house!

The Beach

Saturday we went up Lake Tahoe with our friends Jeff and Kelli and their adorable little girl Bekka.  We spent the afternoon camped out at Nevada Beach. We started  out cooking some Bratwursts and then Jeff, Greg and I hopped on our bicycles and went for a ride while Kelli watched the kiddles. I think she was relieved to not have to ride a bike too.  After the bike ride it was time to hit the water, Timothy didn't seem to excited to get in the water but that might be because it was getting windy and cool and eventually started raining. Then it was a mad dash trying to get our stuff packed up to get out of the rain. Anyway, it was fun.

Today we met up at Topaz Lake for play group. Only a few moms came but it was fun. I even got Timmy in the water.
