Play Ball

So, this post really belongs a few weeks back.

A couple of week ends ago Greg and I went to the BYU baseball game.  Because I am now an Alumna we were able to go to the game as part of an alumni event. That included admission to a tail gate party catered by J.Dawg's and the baseball game. We had a blast at the game, enjoyed a little ice cream, got a  little too much sun and BYU even won 16-10 (after a 4 hour game).

Provo Temple

Greg and I had a nice time at the temple Saturday morning.  We decided to get some pictures outside of the temple while we were there and it was a nice day for doing so.

Memorial Day

Today was a vacation day. NO school. NO work. It was much needed.  Our day wasn't too exciting.   Greg and I took a little walk and ended up at 7 Eleven getting Cherry Coke Slurpees.  When we got home I was feeling a little bored. While trying to decide what I could do I remembered I had some marshmallows left over from making Rice Krispy Treats a few days ago, so I decided I could make some marchmallow fondant and decorate a cake in honor of Memorial day.
Greg's cousin Ben also came over. He promised us he would make us dinner sometime before we move away (since we feed him a lot.) He cooked us some fabulous home made Pesto Gnocchi and baked asparagus. It was delicious! Now we are just relaxing for the rest of the day and playing some games and, of course, eating cake.

Are we there yet?

Moving seems to be getting closer, but still seems so far especially since we still don't have an official move date. Things are in order for Greg to start work on July 12, but until we hear from the relocation specialists and actually find when and where we are moving it doesn't feel like we are going any where. We are so ready to leave. Last night we started looking at some housing on the internet. We found the great website NewValley.com; it's a reality website that serves the area we are moving to.  So we sat down and looked at available rentals in the area. We didn't see any apartments worth looking into. We saw a couple of townhouses and rental houses that looked okay, but I think we are sold on the Duplexes. There was 4 of them that, personally I would be willing to move into with out seeing in person, only if it came down to it, but of course I need to see them in person so I can figure out which one I like better. They are all in Gardnerville, NV and are all pretty similar because they are in the same neighborhood.
These two were 3 bedrooms, 2 bath  1238 sqft and the same layout
This one was only 2 bedrooms, 2 bath but a spacious 1540 sqft. It does have little bonus laundry room (washer and dryer not included)
This one is similar to the last one. 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, 1760 sqft. Instead of bonus laundry room it has a bigger bonus game/ utility room that could be used as a third room.
The best part is that they all come with a dishwasher! and are in the affordable $875-950 a month range. There were also plenty picture of the inside posted to help me fall in love with these duplexes. Maybe we can take that housing hunting trip we are supposed to get as part of our relocation package and see some stuff in person. Until then we'll just have to stick with the internet.

I'm so excited to move. Can't you tell? And, Greg thinks I'm silly for actually posting this.

Baby Alldredge

Today, I am 13 weeks. It's going by so quick. This morning, I had a doctor's appointment and Greg and I got to hear baby's heart beat for the first time. I guess that really must mean there is a baby in there. Good news: baby's heart beat sounds healthy. Other news: Hopefully the morning sickness dies down quick and my appetite comes back, because I've lost 7 pounds in the past 4 weeks (and I do feel like it's getting better).  Now we just need to wait a few more weeks or so for an ultrasound and we find out if baby is a boy or girl.

4 1/2 weeks vs 13 weeks
 Do I look pregnant yet?

Graduate!

Well, if you didn't know I finally finished my bachelors degree in April. I elected not to walk in the April ceremony, but will be walking in August with Greg when he finally finishes. However, I am still a graduate. A couple weeks ago I got an email stating that they would be mailing out diplomas so we needed to make sure the school had the correct name and address. Yesterday, I got an email saying my diploma was mailed and should expect it in the mail in up to 10 days. Apparently, the email was probably sent the wrong day, because my diploma arrived today!

I'm so domestic

So I have to thank my old roommates Karen Dee and Kristy for teaching me how to crochet when I was a freshman up at BYU- Idaho. It is something that I found I really enjoy doing. Since then I've done a lot of crocheting. It's something that has come in really handy, especially during general conference, it gives me something to do that helps me to stay awake so I get to hear all of they amazing speakers. Well, thanks to general conference and my amazing roomies, I've taken on a few big projects all from contest winning patterns out of a Leisure arts afghan book.
Well, with a baby on the way I'm really excited to crochet again. Seriously, the first thing I did when I found out was go by yarn.  I just finished one baby blanket yesterday. . I didn't use the colors the pattern called for because I didn't want to use regular old worsted wight yarn. I found some softer meant for babies yarn and picked out some new colors on my own. It turned out really good. It's so cute, but I can't wait to see how much cuter it is with a baby wrapped up in it.
Now, I get to start a new blanket. I'm going to make a Noah's ark theme blanket, also from that afghan book, This one will be more for decoration to put in baby's room, when finally move into a bigger apartment and have a room for baby. Maybe when I'm done with this one I can find some one to teach me how to knit.

Spring cleaning

Yesterday I got off work at 7 pm. I picked up Greg on the way home. Once we got home we sorted out the laundry and headed to the laundromat.  We definitely have more clothing than we need because didn't get back from the laundromat until about 11 pm. We were sure tired and ready for bed. However, when we got home and were still dealing with the laundry we decided to sort out some clothes to send off to the thrift store.  That turned into going through the kitchen and getting rid of a few pans and cooking utensils. Then we went through our shoes.  Then we went through the couple of boxes of books and various other junk that never got unpacked when we moved in. That turned into organizing some of my stuff like my journals and mission stuff and putting it all in the same box. Well, when all was said and done we had 4 bags full of junk and a few other  items to take to D.I. and we went to bed at 2 am.
When we woke up this morning we were still tired  and my body ached but strangely we were still feeling very productive.  We cleaned the bathroom up some and Greg finally killed the mold on the bathroom ceiling. Afterward the entire house smelled like bleach but it was better than having disease growing on the ceiling. Unfortunately the productivity died and we still need to do the dishes and clean the kitchen. Maybe tomorrow we'll get some more done...

Hair cut

I finally got a hair cut last week. I don't think I've gotten one since last June and the last one wasn't one that grew out very well.  I don't know why I kept putting it off, but I did. I really like this cut and my hair certainly looks a lot better than it did a couple weeks ago before it got cut. The ladies at Kutz and More always do a good job when I go there, especially for an $8 haircut (if your looking for a cheap haircut in Provo.)  I hope this one grows out better than the last one, just in case I put it off again.  Now, it's time to pull out the clippers and give Greg a hair cut. (Don't worry, he's had a few hair cuts since last June.)

School comes to an end...

I just finished up my last semester and it feels great to be done. Greg is just starting his last few class and will be done at the end of spring term.

Just like last semester, I had some papers in my classes.  For one of them I had to make another poster. However, this was a little bit better than last semester. Because the poster conference wasn't being put on by the sociology department it was a little better organized in the way of space and supplies.  This semester was the Mary Lou Fulton conference and was for the entire Family, Home, and Social Sciences college.  It turned out to be a long day standing by my poster and explaining my research to the few interested people with questions. Guess it was still a good educational experience.

Here's my poster:

Happy Easter

I know Easter was a while ago, but with broken internet fixed I can finally post these pictures.

Our Easter wasn't too exciting. I did buy candy; I even went all out on Easter baskets. Obviously not, but it still tasted good.
We decorated some eggs, because it's not Easter without a few boiled eggs to turn into Deviled eggs.
One of Greg's friends invited us for dinner. He and his wife made a nice barbecue pork roast and we played Settlers of Catan. We brought dessert, chocolate cream pie.  It was a fun evening.

The internet works again!

Although life has seemed a little crazy, the business of life hasn't caused me to neglect posting on the blog. This has:

That's right the internet in our building has been out for a while. Life with out the internet is no good, especially when it goes out on reading days and is out for all of finals. It sure makes it hard to study. To make life even worse the water was turned of one day during the no internet incident because one of the bottom floor apartments flooded.

Well, the water's back on now and the internet is working again, but we are so ready to get out of this apartment.
