When we were in Idaho for Greg's grand father's funeral we got to see a lovely painting of Greg's grand mother that was painted by his cousin Mark Alldredge (check out his blog of art work). He had several other paintings in the house that he had done and they were all very, very good. We were impressed, so we printed out one of our photos and asked him to do a painting for us. He finished it a few weeks ago and we finally got it in the mail this week. It looks fantastic and he was even nice enough to put it in a frame for us.

The Beginning of Baby's Room
Friday Greg got his first pay check so we headed out to the store and bought a crib and rocking chair (glider chair) and a few accessories for the crib. Greg put the chair together Friday so we had at least one real piece of furniture in our house to sit on.
Saturday morning we put the crib together.Making progress
and a little more progress
The final product
We got a cute little set of jungle themed bedding
So this is baby's rooms
Of course the rocking chair is really sitting in the living room until our couch comes on Thursday when our stuff finally gets here from Utah. We'll have to ditch the bumpers and the comforter until baby get's old enough to use them so we'll probably use the comforter as a wall hanging and we need to find a little chair side table or a night stand to put next to the rocking chair. So the baby's room isn't finished but we've got a good start and we've still got a few more months to get ready anyway.

Spare Bathroom
We finally decided to buy stuff for the bathroom to make it functional if people ever stop by our place. We decided to go with monkeys to match the jungle theme we want to do in baby's room, since it will mostly be baby's bathroom as baby gets older.

Our Baby
Today, we finally had an ultrasound and got our first little peak at our baby. The reults are in and.....
It's a Boy!
He was hard to get a good look at with his hands in his face
He had a nice healthy, steady heart beat
two arms and two legs
two little fists
and two little feet
He looks like a healthy little boy. We are so excited and now just need to start thinking about a name.

Fun in the Sun
When we were out here out here doing our housing hunting trip we found this great little strip of beach on Lake Tahoe that's only 15 or 20 minutes from home. It's near the marina and there are paddle boat and kayak rentals. You can also walk a couple hundred yards into the water without it getting deeper than 3 feet.
After Greg's first week of work he was tired and needed to relax, but I was dying to get out of the house so we packed up some snacks and spent an hour or so at the beach. We played in the water a little bit, but we mostly just sat in the shade under the Pine trees at the edge of the beach. It made for a nice relaxing afternoon and a couple of sunburns.
First day on the job.
Here is a picture of Greg his on his first day of work. He started his new job with GE energy last Monday. They have been keeping him busy, mostly doing training on the internet, but he also go his laptop at work and met the team he is working with. We are super excited for this opportunity and are so blessed for Greg to be starting a job only 3 weeks after finishing school. Life will be even better once all of our stuff gets moved here. It's scheduled to come next Tuesday and we are ready to have the couch and our bed again. I also can't wait for Greg's first pay check to come so we can finally go shopping for the baby, especially since I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow and we will FINALLY know if we are having a boy or a girl.

Halfway there
I can't believe it. I'm already 20 weeks today. Baby is already halfway here. It's gone by so fast and we still have so much (everything) to do to prepare. At least we have another 20 weeks to prepare and even though I'm sure it will go by fast too, November 25 wont come soon enough.

The Big Move
Friday we packed up our car and headed to Nevada. Friday night we stopped in Elko, NV and stayed the night at Greg's aunt Lynette's. We hopped back in the car the next morning and made it to our new home in Gardnerville, NV. That car sure was packed and made for a long uncomfortable drive.
Unfortunately, all we brought with us to Nevada was the stuff that was in the car. Due to the some delays in the relocation process we have to wait for the movers to move our stuff for us for a couple more weeks. So, we packed our stuff and stacked it all up in the living room ready for the movers to pack in their truck when they come.
We are very grateful to Greg's cousin Ben for all his help in our moving process. First of all he helped us clean up the apartment before we left and is going to clean up everything that got missed and is going to clean the living room after the movers come. He is also going to supervise the loading of our things on to the moving truck and get us checked out of the apartment with the landlord since we are already gone. Thanks Ben!
This is my 19 week 1 day baby bump picture during the packing process. It is no suprise that my body ached after all that hard work. I can actually report that I look pregnant now. At church on Sunday, 2 ladies in the new ward asked me when my baby was due. Luckily, one of them, her husband also works for GE and was able to recommend a doctor to me that is covered by GE's health care plan. Church was actually kind of funny because a large portion of the ward works for GE and some of them knew Greg's name, having heard it being passed around and meetings at work. Also, when we told the bishop we moved into a duplex in the Ranchos area he asked if it was Cabernet (that's the name of our street.) We thought that was a shockingly good guess. Turned out his wife works at the property management we rented the duplex from. Anyway, seemed like half the ward knew we were coming before we got there.
Well, without our stuff we have a pretty pathetic set up in our empty apartment.
At least, we have an air mattress and the T.V. We also got our cable, internet, and phone set up today. We also ordered a washer and dryer at Home Depot to be installed on saturday and we put in some window AC units to keep our new place nice and cool. We also have one room in our house we can be proud of. It's the only room that is finished and has everything in it: the Master Bathroom.
We are really happy to be here in this new house that is much much better x100 and we are excited for Greg to start his new job. We will be ecstatic when our stuff makes it here too.
