Cow Town

I don't know if I've ever mentioned that we live in a cow town. I'm serious; there are cows everywhere among other animals.  There is even an alpaca farm across the street from the GE buliding. There is also wheat being grown in a big field next to GE. Yesterday, there were a couple of girls riding there horses along the side of the road. Yep, it's a cow town. Today, I felt the need to dress up Timothy in his farm best so he can fit in around these parts.  Then what happend today?  We walked to the park. On the way home there was a Man chilling out in his front yard with his horse. This house was not a little farm house on the edge of town with a lot of land. It was a house in the middle of a neighbor with a little yard. So my only question is, where does he keep the horse? In the house?

Play Group

The ladies in my ward started inviting me to playgroup as soon as we moved out here.  I didn't even have a kiddo yet but everybody knows that play group is really a chance for the moms to socialize while the kids play. Well, the playgroup had a break over the winter while the weather was bad, but it started back up again yesterday.   We were supposed to go swimming so I set out to find some swim diapers. We stopped at the Walmart in Carson City after we ate dinner and they didn't have any. This made me believe it was going to be very difficult find swim diapers this time of year but its not. Walgreens had them, as did Raley's and Smith's. I bought a pack of size smalls which is the equvilant of a size 3 diaper so they are too big for this 11 pound 7 week old, but I was hoping they would be good enough to let him splash around for a couple of minutes. Turns out I din't have to worry because the weather has been so nice that the Mom who runs playgroup decided to switch our plans to the cheaper free option of letting the kids play at the park instead. I guess I'll just have to take Timothy to the pool myself when he gets bigger and fits into the diapers.

So we dressed Timothy in a nice warm out fit and took him to the park and I got to visit with the other moms. The shoes and socks didn't last very long and that was on a kid that can't even move around and play yet.  The wonderful mom I am forgot to take pictures at the park even though I had a camera with me, but it's okay, because, like I said, he can't even play yet so a baby sleeping in the stroller isn't the most exciting thing anyway. At least I got to visit with the other moms. Usually there are only 3 or 4 moms there. Yesterday there was around 10. 3 of them moved in since we stopped playgroup over the winter so it's nice to start up again and have the chance for everyone to get to know each other.  I do have to say 10 moms with their kids makes for a lot of kids. Good thing we went to the park with the huge playground.

A big boy?

Dressed Up For Church
Today, we took Timothy to church in this very cute, yet ridiculous out fit. All the pieces came together in a set, but the shirt is almost too small and the pants and sweater were much, MUCH too large. Everybody kept on commenting on how big he is. Yesterday, the Wii weighed him in at 10.8 lbs (about 10 lb 13 oz.) Now, I don't think that is tiny for a 7 week old, but from what I can find on the internet it's not big either, as in no bigger than 50th percentile. I think he just looks bigger than he is thanks to his nice round chubby face. The over-sized church outfit probably didn't help either.

More cute pictures here and here.

6 weeks

Last friday we hit the six weeks mark. I had my check up. I'm healthy and I'm supper happy to be able to really exercise again. I have about 15 pounds to lose to get to where I was before (although I'd be happy to lose more) but the best part is that the working out just ups my energy level and helps me get through all the chores that need done, because there is a never ending pile of laundry to do and mountains of dishes to wash.

Last week I set Timmy up a Mii on the Wii and profile on the Wii Fit Plus. He weighed in at 9.7 pounds.  He is getting so big and we are enjoying his smiles and coos. He's got a lot of personality starting to show.  Let the real fun begin!

Happy New Year

The past year has been crazy, but we've been very blessed.  We finished school. Greg found a good jon. We moved in to a nice place, a little far from family but we have a very friendly and supportive ward at church.  We also welcomed a little person into our family. Like I said, crazy, but great.

Timmy on New Years Day
On New Years Eve we didn't stay up late. We wanted to but after watching a couple of movies we were just to tired. On New Years day we played some Wii sports and just relaxed. Greg got the monday after New Years off. So we got to spend a lot of time together during the holidays. It was a nice way to start off a New Year.   Here's hoping this year is even better than the last, and with that cute little baby keeping me company I don't doubt it will be.
