When we were out here out here doing our housing hunting trip we found this great little strip of beach on Lake Tahoe that's only 15 or 20 minutes from home. It's near the marina and there are paddle boat and kayak rentals. You can also walk a couple hundred yards into the water without it getting deeper than 3 feet.
After Greg's first week of work he was tired and needed to relax, but I was dying to get out of the house so we packed up some snacks and spent an hour or so at the beach. We played in the water a little bit, but we mostly just sat in the shade under the Pine trees at the edge of the beach. It made for a nice relaxing afternoon and a couple of sunburns.
